Europe forecast - July 28, 2025 Thundery rain moves east Hot in the south Issued: 0530hrs Monday 28th July 2025 Duty forecaster: Dan Graves Heavy rain moves to eastern Europe and Scandinavia - only scattered showers west, dry and hot southwest Monday Hot and sunny for Spain and Portugal, a few showers over the far north of Spain. Warm with afternoon showers in the Balearics. Strong westerly winds across Sardinia and Corsica with showery bursts in the north. Hot in Italy with heavy, thundery showers, first in the north and tending to move to central areas. Thundery showers likely across the Balkan States as well. Dry and fine for Greece with lots of sunshine here. Hot for T├╝rkiye and dry too. Fine with good sun for much of France, an occasional shower in the east. Sun and showers in the Low Countries, heaviest in The Netherlands. Rain in southern Germany with some local thunderstorms, these into Switzerland, Austria, and Czechia as well. Widespread thundery rain in east Poland moves north, leaving much of the south dry later. Showery with sun from west Ukraine south towards Bulgaria. Hot and sunny around the shores of the Black Sea and nearby inland areas. Mostly sunny and dry for Denmark with a brisk westerly wind. Cloud and often rainy through the Baltic States with local thundery spells. More rain in Finland, some of it heavy; quite hot with sun in the east. Sunny spells and scattered showers for Sweden, most often north. Norway also sees some showers (more widely), temperatures more mild here. Tuesday Hot and sunny in Iberia with local showers in north Spain. Fine for the Mediterranean islands, only a few scattered light showers. Drier too in Italy with showers isolated in central-east areas, tending to east for mostly sunny conditions. Showers remain in the Balkan States though these tending to ease as well. Sunny and fine for Greece and T├╝rkiye. Scattered cloud across France, more extensive with heavy showery bursts in the north. Showery with sun spell across the Low Countries and west Germany. Some showers in east Germany, as well as the Alpine countries and Czechia, though these fading for a clear evening. Mild-to-warm temperatures north of the Alps. Only a few spots of rain for Poland south into Hungary though often cloudy. Widespread heavy/thundery rain in Romania slips north into west Ukraine, some into south Belarus. Hot east Ukraine and Belarus. Strong westerlies prevail across Denmark into the Baltic Sea with heavy showers into west Denmark.
