   Europe forecast - October 09, 2025
   Risk thunder west Mediterranean
   Windy Scandinavia, rain west

   Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 9th October 2025
   Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

High pressure over the British Isles extends over the western
continent, brining dry and bright weather. Low pressure around
Scandinavia brings wind, cloud, and rain, this extending into eastern
   Europe.

   Thursday
Showery with a risk of thunderstorms in central and east Spain. Dry and
sunny elsewhere and in Portugal, just some light rain along the north
coast. Showers for the Balearics, also with a risk of thunderstorms in
the west. Some showers over Sardinia and Corsica but many areas dry.
Fine for Italy, a few showers in the mountainous north. Some showers
too in Slovenia and northern Croatia, the rest of the Balkans fine and
dry with plenty of sunshine, this extending south into Greece. Some
morning showers in T├╝rkiye, these moving east for an improving, sunny
   day.
Some local light rain in central France, otherwise dry with sunny
spells. This band of rain extends across the Alps and southern Germany,
Czechia, and into Poland. Further north near the coasts, drier but
mostly cloudy. Some scattered rain in Slovakia and Hungary, drier
further east in Romania (though eastern Romania is likely rainy) and
Bulgaria with sun spells increasing through the day.
A day of patchy rain in Denmark, southern Sweden, and the Baltic States
but with dry and sunny spells mixed in. Finland mostly dry with sunny
spells as well, just some morning rain in the east. Frequently raining
on Norway's west coasts with heavy bursts and a strong westerly wind,
best of dry and sunny spells in the southeast. A band of rain will pass
east across central and north Sweden with local snowfall; sunny spells
will follow in the later afternoon.

   Friday
Heavy rain with local thunder continues in southeast Spain, and the
Balearics. The rest of Iberia dry with much sunshine. Showery over
Sardinia, Corsica, and Sicily, some risk of thundery rain early. Dry
and sunny for Italy. Mostly fine for the Balkan States as well with
plenty of sunshine, just some local spells of rain in Serbia. Sunshine
   for Greece and T├╝rkiye.
High pressure in western Europe keeps conditions broadly dry from
France eastward across the Alps and Germany. Some cloud in the morning
though this tending to break for a sunny afternoon. Some scattered,
showery rain in Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and east Austria with a
brisk northwesterly wind. Drier in Hungary with bright spells. A band
of rain passes east across Romania and Ukraine, drier with a mix of
   cloud and sun for Bulgaria.
Persistent rain onto Norway's west coast in a strong westerly wind,
snow on the higher mountains and in northern areas. Dry for a time in
Sweden, but the rain and snow will drift into northern areas on the
wind as the day goes. Only spotty rain further south and in Denmark
through often cloudy. Brighter or often sunny in Finland after morning
rain in the east clears away.
