It was a similar compatibility issue.  The linux libraries being used do
not like the old "imploding" method that earlier versions of DOS PKZIP
used.

What made it frustrating is that my QWK readers include the  '-e0' on the
PKZIP calls (which means "store only";), and PKZIP -v was reporting that the
files were "stored" and not "imploded".

Whatever it was, it has not happened since.  Probably because I am keeping
an eye on it.  ;)
