The total round trip is 16km.  Not 26.  It's a 5-mile trip each way so
10 miles or 16km.

It normally is around 40 minutes each way.  It depends on how many
traffic lights I hit also. It also depends if I stop at a store along
the way.  5 MPH is slow, yes, but it sure beats walking.

I can take the bus home but the buses are so rickety that when they hit
a bump in the road, which is often, it can literally throw my back out.
I usually will take the bus in less-than-desireable weather.

It is a PITA, yes, but it sure beats not being able to do anything at
all.
