There are not many options where I am. The Bell Boxes are so old you
can forget Fibre, they were only able to handle Dial Up at half speed
when I first moved here.

In recent years we at least now have the option of Cell Phone Data plans
and Satellite service at very high prices.

My next door neighbours are only here for 3 or 4 weeks a year but they
need decent Internet speeds for business purposes while here so they
installed Starlink this past year and are paying about $1800 a year
for service over those few weeks..

Pretty neat. That reminds me of the song "I've been everywhere man.." B)

I always expected when younger that I'd stay with whatever company I
got hired by for my whole working life but something always seemed to
come up to mess that up. Usually I stayed for 5 or 6 years.

When I unexpectedly (unplanned?) quit my last regular job it was
supposed to originally be for just 6 months, and then I extended
that to 2 years but, in the end, I never did go back.

I made some money from investments and worked part time at various
things like Computer programming and repair in the early years and
later property management and maintenance to add a bit to my income
but it was a rare year I actually worked for pay for more than the
equivalent of 2 or 3 weeks a year.

My property is pretty big with a lot of old buildings so there was
always a lot to keep me busy..

i.e.. We have shingled 7 roofs on the buildings here.
