Hello Rob!

29 Oct 25 08:03, you wrote to me:

I have a friend who lives closer to downtown and he has AT&T fibre and, if
memory serves, his speeds are over 300 mbps. Fibre isn't to our neighborhood
yet. It was built in late 1958 through 196?. Ours was built in 1960, a few years
before I was born.

The truck shop where I work is about 4 1/2 miles north of town and about one
mile too far out for cable internet and AT&T doesn't serve that area, except for
land line phone. The company sold on April 1 of this year and the new owner had
the wireless internet provider (using 5 ghz links) disconnected after Starlink
was installed. So far, so good. ~350/25 (We use 5 ghz links to our repeater site
37 miles away @ 7,500';)

My first was about 6 years. My parents celebrated their 63rd in June.

Next March, I will have my commercial driver license (CDL) for 40 years. I have
been in 47 states (except Vermont, Alaska, Hawaii). I drove transit bus in the
late 80's near Pismo Beach for a bit. For the last 25+ years, I have been a
local driver, and coming up on 20 years at my current job.
